Google Natural Rankings

September 30, 2006 9:52 am

It’s an art trying to get your site to list well with Search Engines.   It’s a combination of page content, domain name, request url, age of website, incoming links and many other factors.

I have been helping other companies in the past gain page rank within Search Engines but for some reason this site has disappeared from search engine rankings.    Time to do some SEO of my own now.

Global Warming & Fresh Produce

September 26, 2006 2:18 pm

The weather is getting hotter and hotter each year.   I remember not needing Air Conditioning in Vancouver before but it’s almost becoming a necessity.   The earth is getting warmer.

I think global warming is having a direct impact on fresh produce.  I find the quality of the produce decreasing year after year.   In the past you could buy nice ripe oranges all year long, now the organges are all shriveled and not even orange in color.    The vegetables are not as green.     There is definately a lack of exotic fruits and the prices are higher in general.

With the way things are it’s going to be more difficult to have your daily servings of fruits and vegetables because who wants to eat a shriveled unripe small piece of fruit.

Regular Expressions aka regexp

September 20, 2006 3:34 pm

I’ve been programming for many years now and I still don’t have the hang of regular expressions.  It’s so cryptic and there are so many ways to get the same result.    I wish they taught this stuff in school.

I found this tutorial online.   It’s quite good.   If you need help with regexp, visit the following site:

Another good programming resource I found was at the Mozilla Developers website.  It has good introductions to most new web 2.0 technologies.

Exhausted

September 19, 2006 2:51 pm

I’m physically and mentally exhausted today. I have been working on a large project since two weeks ago and the first big deadline was today. During the last two weeks reaching today I have been able to do all nighters get very little sleep and continue on. But once the project was delivered I felt the onset of exhaustion within seconds, after the feeling of joy that I was done.

I hope my recovery back to a normal sleeping pattern is quick.
