Do not fly Japan Airlines (JAL)

November 22, 2007 4:50 pm

I usually fly Cathay Pacific / Dragon Air when visiting Asia.  On my latest trip I decided to fly JAL to give it a try.   My conclusion after of 25 hrs of service is DO NO FLY JAL.  The seats are cramped, the fuselage has a high temperature, the food is sub-par, drink selection is limited and finally there are no snacks.    JAL is also ranked 40th out of airlines operating 747s when it comes to the age of the 747 fleet, averaging an age of 15.7 years.

On the other hand, the last time I flew Cathay Pacific it had a much more comfortable seating configuration, cooler cabin, much better food (including ice cream), lot more drinks and self-serve snack area.  What was JAL expecting you to do, when you are on a 12 hr flight with no options of getting a snack to eat in-between meals.

The wonders of antibiotics

4:42 pm

I just got back from my trip to Japan and Taiwan.   While on the trip I must have caught a cold / bug.   Was feeling really bad prior to coming back.   I started taking some antibiotics that the doctor prescribed me ahead of time, just in case I got a bug when I was traveling.   I’m feeling much better now and it’s been less than a week since taking the antibiotics

It makes me wonder what people did before the invention of Antibiotics?  Did people just die?  It’s often very difficult for the body to fight a bacterial infection, especially if it is in the chest (throat, lungs, etc.).

What would the world ever do without pharmaceutical drugs …

Bubble Economy

August 18, 2007 9:54 am

No one argues that we are in a bubble economy right now. Just when the pin will burst the bubble.

I’m hoping soon. Signs of it was shown on Thursday. If the Bank of Canada and US Fed Reserve didn’t step in by putting in money and having lenders calm things down, we might still be on a downward trend.

How long can the Government keep on putting in money. Where does the money come from? Every time the BoC and US Feds put in money, they devalue their respective curriences.

Fun times to come, at least for people who are very liquid.

Inconsiderate People Who Door Ding

May 23, 2007 8:32 pm

I hate all you inconsiderate a$$e$ who door ding other cars. If you don’t care about your car doesn’t mean the person who you are door dinging doesn’t care about theirs.    I got a huge door ding in my car on a panel that cannot be easily repaired.    This is after I parked my car at the end with tons of room on either side of the car.  May karma kick you in the ass you evil door dinger.   That is all.

Bank of Canada - Raise your Prime Rate

April 25, 2007 8:06 am

Bank of Canada please raise your prime rate.  This will hopefully put a stop to the growth of the Canadian Economy.     I need the Canadian Dollar to fall as well as the Real Estate Market.

Vancouver Real Estate Crash

April 24, 2007 2:19 pm

When will the Real Estate Market in Vancouver Crash?   This year, next year or after the 2010 Olympics?  I’m hoping it happens very soon.  The sooner the better.  Hopefully the Bank of Canada increases their prime rate, forcing most people on variable mortgage to default on their loan, bringing a huge influx of inventory onto the market at rock bottom prices.   Let’s hope this happens soon.

April Court Date

February 23, 2007 3:41 pm

I’m extremely excited.  I received news that a Settlement Conference date has been set for my Small Claims Court claim against ???? ??? TAM and the Insurance Corporation of British Columbia (ICBC).   The entire MVA incident has taken almost a year of my happiness away.   I hope I am able to convince the Judge of the truth and be victorious.   The court date is set for April 18th, 2007 at the Robson Court Provincial Courts.   Wish me luck.

Serving Court Documents

December 21, 2006 10:51 am

I thought it would be easy to serve court documents via registered mail.   It is easy if the receiver cooperates but if they don’t they can refuse acceptance of the mail or just never pick up the mail from the mail depot.

I guess the only option now is to attempt to serve the documents via personal service.  Hopefully I can find a friend who is willing to take some time out of their day to service them.   I’m thinking Christmas day would be a good day.   If you want to be a volunteer please let me know.

Boycott FujiFilm

Fuji S2 Pro

Got news from FujiFilm Canada that green lines going across a picture is normal. That it has happened with many of their S2 Camera’s. I’m not talking about a $200 Point and Shoot Camera but rather $3,000.00 Professional Camera (2002). They said they will not warranty the camera of this known sensor problem as too many camera’s have it. This is already the 2nd sensor in the camera as the first Camera had failed completely. You think with a known inherent problem they would cover the repair of this problem. They told me they can repair the problem for me at a cost of $1200.00 and I was blown out of my mind as a new camera with newer technology could be obtained for less than $1200.00. I thought they would at least offer to fix the problem at cost.

Oh well, the only solution is to ask everyone to boycott FujiFilm products. Go buy something more reliable. Go get yourself Nikon, Canon, Pentax, Olympus, anything other than Fuji. Too little too late.
